Video Validation List Setup
Validation Lists can be used for:
- Upload a list of potential registrants, such as organization members or employees. Then restrict registration to those on the list or apply discounts to them.
- Helping registrants type in a long series of characters, which perhaps they don't know, or may have trouble remembering. The system looks for matches. Instead of validating, the list acts like an auto-fill.
To activate the validation features, first, go to Application > Account > Features. In the Event Setup section select to activate Validation Lists. (You must also activate Registrant Database on the same screen.) You will then see the Validation List option on the Admin menu on the top bar.
Creating and uploading a validation list
Click "Create New List".
Give your new list a name such as "Member Roster" etc.
Choose the basis of the validation then click Add List. Options are:
- Email Address (person@domain.com)
- Email Address ( domain.com)
- Registrant Name
- Other - An example of "Other" would be a membership number.
When you have named the list, click the Items link to manually add entries or upload a spreadsheet.
To upload a list, click "Upload Item List".
Click the link to download the report import template and save it somewhere on your computer. Do not change the structure of the template or it will not work.
Enter the required information plus optional discounts. "Validation/other", such as a member discount will be tied later to a registration question entered at the event level. You need only use one validation criterion on the spreadsheet.

Browse your computer for the completed template and upload it. The Validation List will now be available to be tied to any event. For those steps, see Restrictions.
Once a validation list is tied to an event, it will be "in use" and cannot be removed at the Admin level.
The spreadsheet format must adhere to the template which can be downloaded from the upload page. Required fields will vary based on the list type.
Records that are invalid due to missing data or non-numeric discount values will be displayed.
If the same spreadsheet is imported again, existing records will be updated and any new records will be created.
